about
Though I began this song in 2001 while pondering Eagle Falls in Southeast Alaska, I wasn't able to pick it up until October 2009, looking out over Paradise Valley, Montana and thinking that some of the pick up trucks on the highway were driving home to a light on their porch door. But I couldn't quite put it together.
Finally, in January 2010, I understood why I had to go down to the waterfall. Forgiveness finished it off beautifully. And I'm much better now.

10. WATERFALL
Words and music copyright 2010 by Britt Arnesen
Night has fallen on the valley floor
Husbands come home to a light on their porch door
There is no one for me to leave my light on for
Since you said this ain't your home anymore
So I'm walking my way down to the waterfall
Let the roar drown out my voice as I sing to myself the saddest songs
'Til I'm forgiven, I'm forgiven of it all
I'm forgiven, I drank forgiveness at the waterfall
It's a good ole time down at the waterfall
I skip along the mossy rocks until I slip and fall
'Til I forgive you, I forgive you of it all
I forgive you, I forgive you for it all
So people go down to your waterfall
C'mon and meet me at midnight at the waterfall
'Cause we're forgiven, We're all forgiven,
We are forgiven of it all
Just want you know I forgive you, I forgive you for it all.
