about

Elijah Jalil is a singer-songwriter based in Missoula, Montana. Originally from the Bay Area (CA), Elijah made his way towards the mountains after studying theater in Portland, OR to work on his Masters of Fine Arts in Acting at the University of Montana. He is a dedicated social justice artist focused on changing the world by creating and collaborating on all forms of art.

Largely inspired by Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, and other Pop genres, Elijah started his journey with a guitar and his voice. After playing at multiple open mics around Missoula, the consistently magical collaboration with Britt Arnesen helped this debut album, Nothing to Say, come to life.

lyrics

BIRDS IN THE SKY
Words and music by Elijah Jalil

I don’t understand
Don’t know if I can
But take my hand

We’ll run jump and fly
Like birds in the sky
Yes, you and I

We can do anything
We can be anyone
We can fly like the birds in the sky

We can do anything
We can go anywhere
If we follow the birds in the sky

Ooooooh

Ooooooh

Mmmm

We don’t understand
Don’t know if we can
But take my hand

We’ll run jump and fly
Like birds in the sky
Yes, you and I

We can do anything
We can be anyone
We can fly like the birds in the sky

We can do anything
We can go anywhere
If we follow the birds in the sky
