I updated this 1999 original in July 2009. Stephen is a fictional character. Still waiting to meet him after writing numerous poems, stories, and songs about him and our adventures. The frozen lake in the song is none other than Mendenhall Lake in Juneau.

Words and music copyright 1999 by Britt Arnesen

Give yourself to the silence
Let the snow be your guide
It sparkles a thousand diamonds
And the moon is our only light
The sky is clear and the stars appear
There's nowhere I'd rather be

I'll hug you
I'll love you
I'll hold you where you stand

We'll lie here dreaming
On a blanket on a frozen lake
A thermos of hot tea
No worries from the past
We chased the off at last
This moment is only you and me

And I'll hug you
I'll love you
I'll hold you where you stand

So hug me
And love me
Hold me where I stand

Hug me
Love me
I know only you will understand me
