about

I love playing traditional-style bluegrass music, and I wrote this song for long-time Missoula band Pinegrass when they asked me to join in 2015. You can hear us every year at the Hard Time Bluegrass Festival in Darby, Montana.

lyrics

WOOD RIVER MOON
Words and music by Britt Arnesen

Oh melody maker
I've come for a favor
Please do what you're able
There's a good man I know who needs saving
Wood River Moon
Please send him this song with my love

He's burdened with sadness
Feeling blue and abandoned
Lost the one thing that matters
Then the world around him shattered
Wood River Moon
Please send him this song with my love

On the wind through the maples
Or the call of a raven
Strong and sustaining
Like the music we could (should) be making
Wood River Moon
Please send him this song with my love

Make it warm and inviting
Like the spark I see inside him
Make the magic exciting
When these arms come hold him tightly
Wood River Moon
